Gary Allen
Gary Allen is a draughtsman based in Omaha, Nebraska, by way of Kansas City. His sketchbook ranges widely — bowls and other quiet still-lifes, streets and buildings, meals and markets, a jacket on the back of a chair — whatever catches his eye on any given day. He also works as a traveling jeweler and shows around Omaha and the surrounding cities throughout the year. Most drawings are offered as both one-of-one originals and small-run archival prints.
Process
Drawings are made from direct observation — bowls on the studio table, a meal, a street, a jacket slung over a chair. Whatever the subject, each piece is drawn on location or in the studio, then scanned at high resolution and prepared individually for reprint. Originals are one-of-one.
Originals & Prints
Most pieces are offered as both a one-of-one original and a small run of archival prints. Prints are produced on acid-free paper with pigment-based inks, in runs of roughly 20–30, each numbered and signed by hand.
Shows & Commissions
